Northamptonshire Nurse Runs for Rainbows Hospice
In the heart of Northamptonshire, a local hero has swapped her scrubs for running shoes, all in the name of charity. Meet Karen Parsons, a dedicated clinical nurse specialist in Paediatric Palliative Care, who has been making strides both in her professional life and on the streets of London. On a sunny Sunday, April 12th, Karen took on the iconic London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising an impressive £755 for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Karen, 52, has been a beacon of support for families in Northamptonshire for three years. Her role as a Rainbows CNS involves supporting babies, children, and young people through their healthcare journeys, from diagnosis to end-of-life care. Her commitment to providing compassionate care is unwavering, whether in hospitals, homes, or at the hospice.
The marathon itself was a dream come true for Karen. She had long aspired to participate in the London Landmarks event, and it lived up to her expectations. With ideal weather and a vibrant atmosphere, Karen completed the race in just over two hours, taking in the sights of Big Ben, the London Eye, and more.
Karen’s dedication to Rainbows is deeply personal. She felt that raising funds for Rainbows was an obvious choice, given her pride in working for such an impactful charity. Her work ensures that families receive the vital support they need, making a tangible difference in their lives.
At James Anthony Estate Agents, we are inspired by Karen’s story and her commitment to the community. Her efforts remind us of the importance of supporting local heroes who make Northamptonshire a better place. If you wish to support Karen’s fundraising efforts, visit her JustGiving page.
