From Classroom to Community Fitness Hub
A former primary school teacher has transformed her passion for fitness into a flourishing community enterprise across Northampton and beyond. In December 2021, she made the courageous decision to pursue fitness full-time, drawing on over two decades of experience as a group fitness instructor.
Initially juggling teaching with community fitness classes, she recognised the end of 2021 as the ideal moment to embark on this new path. “I’d been thinking about it for a long while,” she explained. “The pandemic delayed things, but I knew it was time.”
Her business, Sue Finney Fitness, focuses on two key areas: personal training and clubbercise classes. Personal training, offered one-to-one or in pairs, is conducted in a private studio in St Crispin and through a personal training app, ensuring accessibility for all. The clubbercise classes, held in Northampton, Daventry, and Towcester, have cultivated a vibrant community that she holds dear.
Clients particularly commend her expertise in strength training, which she passionately advocates for its transformative benefits, especially for women. Strength training enhances mood, energy, and mental clarity, and is particularly beneficial for those experiencing menopausal symptoms. Her proudest achievements include positive client feedback and assisting in rehabilitation from surgeries like hip and knee replacements.
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, she aims to enhance her personal training app and continue fostering the community spirit in her clubbercise sessions. Her mission is to keep fitness accessible, fun, and welcoming, empowering individuals to feel confident and enjoy the myriad benefits of an active lifestyle.
At James Anthony Estate Agents, we celebrate local entrepreneurs who enrich our community with their passion and dedication. Her story exemplifies the power of following one’s passion and the positive impact it can have on our neighbourhoods.
