Clumsy the Clown Returns with Joy
Lloyd Reed, affectionately known as Clumsy the Clown, is bringing his vibrant energy back to Northampton after an 11-year break from the spotlight. With a career that began at the tender age of seven, Lloyd’s journey as a clown has been nothing short of magical. Inspired by his first clown convention in Bognor Regis, he embarked on a 30-year adventure that delighted audiences far and wide.
Now, Clumsy is set to perform twice daily, six days a week, at the Circus Fiesta event at Billing Aquadrome holiday park in Great Billing. His return is not just a comeback; it’s a celebration of joy, laughter, and the enduring spirit of entertainment. After taking a break to focus on personal commitments, including settling down with his partner and nurturing his business, Lloyd is thrilled to don his clown make-up once more. “I feel unbelievable,” he shares, reflecting on the joy of returning to his passion.
Understanding that coulrophobia, or the fear of clowns, affects some, Clumsy is adept at tailoring his performances to ensure everyone feels comfortable. His approach is gentle and engaging, often resulting in smiles and photos with those who were initially apprehensive.
Lloyd’s love for clowning began at just three years old, and despite his parents’ expectations that he’d outgrow it, his passion only deepened. His return to the circus feels serendipitous, as if everything has fallen perfectly into place.
As Clumsy brings his unique brand of fun back to Northampton, we at James Anthony are thrilled to see such vibrant local talent shining once again. Here’s to many more years of laughter and joy!
