Calling all board game enthusiasts! The Northants Board Game Convention is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever. Mark your calendars for Friday, August 1, and Saturday, August 2, as Kettering Arts Centre transforms into a haven for gamers of all ages. Organised by the passionate team at Boards of Kettering CIC, this event promises to unite players from across Northamptonshire and beyond for two days of camaraderie and competition.

Gavin Price, Dez Dell, and Polly Shackleton, the masterminds behind the convention, have been fostering community spirit through their monthly board games café nights for five years. Their dedication to promoting skills and well-being through play shines through in this annual event. Polly, last year’s Dro Polter champion, is eager to defend her title amidst the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that attendees have come to love.

Rev Tom Houston, a familiar face at the board games café nights, will once again host the event. With last year’s convention being a phenomenal success, the organisers have expanded the event to two days, introducing roleplay and miniature tabletop games for 2025.

Visitors can explore a vast library of over 500 games, with experienced players ready to guide novices. From tournaments like Connect 4 and Crockinole to live murder mysteries and playtesting tables, there’s something for everyone. Plus, with a licensed bar and food vendors on site, you can refuel between games.

Tickets are just £6 per session, with under-fives and carers attending for free. For more details, visit the Boards of Kettering website or search Northants Board Game Convention on social media. And remember, while you’re enjoying the games, if you’re considering a move in the area, we at James Anthony Estate Agents are here to help with all your property needs.
