Northampton’s Market Square: A Family Favourite Reopens
It was a weekend of joy, laughter, and community spirit as Northampton’s Market Square officially reopened its doors to the public. The event, which took place over the weekend, was a resounding success, attracting families and visitors from all corners of the town.
The Market Square, a beloved local hub, had been undergoing refurbishments since September. While traders were welcomed back last month, the finishing touches were still being added to the rest of the area. The grand reopening event, therefore, was held on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20.
This fantastic event was a collaborative effort hosted by West Northamptonshire Council (WNC), Northampton Forward, Northampton BID, and Northampton Town Council (NTC). The weekend was packed with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and a plethora of opportunities to sample local food and drink. It was a wonderful chance to rediscover Northamptonshire’s rich heritage and history and explore the offerings of local businesses and traders.
The stage was graced by headline performers Northants Sings Out and tribute band The Magic of ABBA, along with other talented local artists. The air was filled with music, cheer, and the aroma of delicious food from various traders.
The event was not just about shopping and entertainment. It also featured an interactive sports area and a host of activities for the kids, making it a perfect family day out. The reopening of Northampton’s Market Square was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, heritage, and local pride.
So, if you missed out on the grand reopening, fret not! The Market Square is now open and ready to welcome you with open arms. Come and experience the vibrant heart of Northampton once again.
