Nestled in the heart of Northampton, Steph Davies, the creative force behind Scruffy Dog Silver, has been crafting exquisite jewellery since 2011. Her journey began with a serendipitous encounter at a silversmith workshop, sparking a passion that would eventually lead to her being named the best jeweller in the county at the Northants Life Awards in both 2023 and 2024.
Steph’s creations, primarily in sterling silver, often feature delightful accents of copper, seaglass, and gold, each piece lovingly handcrafted and uniquely designed. Her dedication to quality and craftsmanship has earned her a loyal customer base, with many returning for more of her stunning pieces.
Despite a dip in online sales, Steph’s determination to connect with her community has seen her schedule an impressive 20 events this year, far more than ever before. By engaging directly with customers, she reassures them of the quality and uniqueness of her jewellery, a strategy that has proven successful.
Steph’s ambitions don’t stop there. With plans to convert her garage into a larger workshop, she looks forward to inviting others to create their own jewellery in this new space. Her venture into wedding fairs marks another exciting chapter, expanding her reach beyond traditional craft markets.
