Northampton Charity Launches New Wellbeing Centre
Exciting news for Northampton residents! The Sikh Community Centre & Youth Club (SCCYC) is set to unveil a brand-new wellbeing centre at their Waterside Connect premises on St James Mill Road. This Sunday, June 8, marks the grand opening of the Shaant Yoga Centre, Alina’s Wellbeing Café, and a suite of Ayurvedic and holistic therapies.
SCCYC Waterside Connect is a beacon of community support, and this latest initiative aims to enrich the lives of locals through holistic health and wellness. The launch event, from 11am to 2pm, promises a feast for the senses and the soul. Expect expert talks, holistic treatments, and engaging activities for children. Attendees can indulge in yoga sessions, personal training, and workshops on health and holistic practices. The café will tempt taste buds with cake, chai, coffee, and Indian street food.
The Shaant Yoga Centre is dedicated to blending traditional yoga practices with community engagement and Indian Ayurvedic traditions. Through movement, mindfulness, and inclusive programming, the centre aspires to foster long-term wellbeing for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Under the leadership of Pindy Kaur, who has been at the helm for 21 years, SCCYC continues to evolve. As they approach their 30th anniversary in 2026, the organisation remains committed to providing tailored, needs-led services. From welfare support and food aid to volunteering and employment assistance, SCCYC is a cornerstone of the community.
Pindy Kaur shared her enthusiasm with the Chronicle & Echo, highlighting the transition from critical welfare support to a focus on emotional, social, and physical wellbeing. The team is thrilled to expand their offerings and welcomes everyone to experience the new centre.
With its doors open to all, the wellbeing centre is poised to become a hub of health and happiness in Northampton. At James Anthony Estate Agents, we celebrate such community-driven initiatives that enhance the quality of life for local residents.
