What began as a simple outing with her young son quickly became a cherished family tradition. “We are like one huge family at ParkPlay,” Louise shares. “The friendships and confidence I’ve gained have been life-changing.”
This initiative, supported by the Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust and the Northamptonshire Serious Violence Prevention Partnership, is a testament to the power of community spirit. Richard Clinton, chief executive at the Trust, highlights the importance of outdoor activities, especially post-pandemic. “ParkPlay is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors while making friends,” he notes.
The success of ParkPlay lies in its dedicated volunteers. PlayLeaders like Pete ensure every session is inclusive and enjoyable. “Creating these moments gives me a real sense of achievement,” Pete says. “It’s about making a positive impact in our community.”
