Crafty Events Await at Woodmeadow Centre
Nestled in the heart of Northampton, Woodmeadow Garden Centre is more than just a place for plants. It’s home to The Shack, a bustling hub for nearly 50 independent crafters. Founded by the visionary Karen Akhtar in March last year, The Shack offers a unique shopping experience where customers are promised never to see the same thing twice. It’s a quirky paradise for gift seekers and those who appreciate the charm of handmade goods.
This August, The Shack is set to host two exciting events, promising to bring a buzz to the quieter summer months. First up is the Psychic Fair on Saturday, August 9th. With mediums, crystal sellers, and sound bath facilitators, it’s an event that promises intrigue and insight. Entry and parking are free, with charges only for readings and purchases.
Following this, the garden centre will welcome furry friends and their owners for the Dog Show on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25th. With eight categories and a £2 entry fee, it’s a delightful day out for dog lovers. Karen hopes this will become an annual tradition, adding to the vibrant community spirit of Woodmeadow.
Visitors can make a day of it, with a tearoom and vintage emporium on site. Karen emphasises the importance of local support, saying, “It’s important that we keep everything local and we need the community to support us to keep going.”
Despite the challenges posed by recent heatwaves, Karen remains optimistic about the future. The calming atmosphere and good vibes of Woodmeadow Garden Centre make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. We at James Anthony understand the value of community hubs like The Shack and encourage everyone to support local businesses and enjoy these action-packed events.
