Northamptonshire’s Top Secondary Schools Shine Bright
Northamptonshire is home to some truly outstanding secondary schools, and the latest 2025 performance figures have once again highlighted their excellence. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, these schools have achieved remarkable Attainment 8 scores, a testament to their dedication and the hard work of their students.
Leading the pack is Bishop Stopford School in Kettering, boasting an impressive Attainment 8 score of 58.6. This Anglican academy has consistently demonstrated excellence, earning ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ ratings in all Ofsted categories.
In Northampton, the Northampton School for Boys stands out with a score of 57.9, well above the local and national averages. Its counterpart, Northampton School for Girls, also shines with a score of 54.7, showcasing the strength of education in the area.
Wootton Park School, an all-through academy, achieved an ‘outstanding’ rating and a score of 53.5. Meanwhile, Northampton Academy, with its ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating, scored 52.1, further highlighting the quality of education available in Northampton.
Towcester’s Sponne School and Corby’s Brooke Weston Academy both achieved commendable scores, with 52 and 50.4 respectively, each rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. Caroline Chisholm School and Sir Christopher Hatton Academy also scored well, both achieving 50.2.
Chenderit School and The Duston School, both rated ‘good’, scored 50, while Prince William School in Oundle achieved 48.9. Kettering Buccleuch Academy rounds out the list with a score of 48.2.
