In a heartwarming display of community spirit, about 200 pupils from Hackleton Primary School in Northampton took part in a delightful three-legged charity walk to support Children in Need. The event, held on Thursday, saw students complete laps of their 400m track, all in the name of charity.

The inspiration for this unique event came from BBC local radio’s 1,000 Mile Three-Legged Challenge. After hearing about it earlier this month, the school staff decided to bring the challenge to life for their students. The result was an afternoon filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a touch of chaos as pupils paired up to tackle the tricky course.

Excitement reached a fever pitch when Pudsey Bear, the beloved mascot of Children in Need, made a surprise appearance on the field. The pupils’ enthusiasm was infectious, with many describing the atmosphere as “hysterical” as they navigated the course with their partners.

In preparation for the event, students attended an assembly where they received valuable tips on mastering the art of the three-legged walk. Teamwork was the order of the day, as pupils learned to synchronise their steps and support each other through the challenge.

The event not only raised funds for a worthy cause but also provided a memorable experience for everyone involved. It was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to learn about the importance of charity, teamwork, and community spirit.

At James Anthony, we love seeing our local community come together for such wonderful causes. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of unity and the joy of giving back. Well done, Hackleton Primary School!
